DLD patterns by Danesh Leather Design are intended for Leather crafters who either want to practice or develop their skills or in need of innovative and up to par designs for their shop and small businesses.

The Knickers card holder is an all curve design which means zero straight lines, shaped like an Oak barrel wearing knickers hence the name. The pattern is meant for intermediate and professional leather mainly because some experience with hand cutting is required. I highly recommend beginners to take on this challenge, after making a Few your cutting skills will get a major upgrade. Another challenge in this pattern is the stitching, although upon first look it has only one stitching line, it requires stitching in two phases, that’s why it’s essential to cleanly hide the stitches ends which would be much more efficient with linen threads (0.3-0.5).

Recommended leather for the Barrel should be 1-1.4mm thick for best results although it would work also with thicker leather. Temper should be medium to hard. A few tests also proved that 3.0mm pricking irons work best, but any size would work.

I invite you to visit my website at www.daneshleatherdesign.com and my instagram account at @daneshleatherdesign to follow and look at the full collection of patterns available to download, you can also see the finished items, discuss designs and learn advanced techniques and skills.
